Undermount Sink

Whenever you see a vanity area that has a sink that sits underneath the countertop, it’s called an undermount sink. The countertop itself will most of the time have a lip that goes down into the rim of the sink, but the name comes from the way that the sink itself is installed, because our skillful bathroom contractors will actually mount and attach the sink from underneath the countertop.

A similar type of sink would be a drop-in sink, being that the sink itself dips down below. But, just like undermount sinks got their name from the way that they are installed, so do drop-in sinks, because they’re attached to the vanity from the top instead of the bottom.

Vanity Sink

There are a wide variety of bathroom sinks in Arlington, and you’ll be surprised how many options you have when it comes to dressing up your bathroom area the way you want with a very unique vanity sink that probably none of your family, friends and neighbors have!

There are of course several types of different sinks, and in our experience it normally depends on the bathroom size and overall design when it comes to which one a homeowner would like the most.

For example, maybe you may enjoy what is called a console bathroom sink. These are not to be confused with wall-mounted sinks, even though both of them actually have wall-mounting features. Although a console sink is attached to the bathroom wall, it still has legs on it. Sometimes it has two legs, sometimes it has four; it just depends on the style that the homeowner desires the most, and they come in a lot of different ones from modern to classic.

A wall-mounted sink on the other hand won’t have any vanity area, and will stand as its own vanity sink. Homeowners will many times get a wall-mounted sink when they are trying to save space in the bathroom, but these come in lots of different designs, so you don’t have to sacrifice style for a space saving sink.

What some homeowners will do (if they still want sort of a complete vanity area with a wall-mounted sink) is have some small to medium sized wall-mounted cabinets adjacent to the sink on either side. Then, they’ll simply dress up the entire area, adding a nice looking mirror between the cabinets, and some lovely lighting that’s directed right onto that vanity area. Then, just like that, they have developed a complete vanity in that small spaced bathroom, just by being a little creative!

Vessel Sink

Probably the most unique type of bathroom sink are vessel sinks. The first ones were so basic, and simply looked like bowls that sat on top of the countertop with a faucet and a set of hot and cold handles nearby. But, nowadays there are endless variations of them, from vessel sinks that look like classic buckets from outside wells of country cottages, to ancient looking bowls with Chinese designs.

If you’re interested in getting a unique vessel sink for your bathroom renovation, we’ll be happy to help you locate the bathroom sinks in Arlington that you desire.
